| General description: | Hormone sensitive lipase (HSL) is coded by LIPE (lipase E) gene. The gene coding for a protein is mapped on human chromosome 19q13. The encoded protein is an intracellular lipase with various neutral lipid substrates, such as triglycerides, diglycerides, monoglycerides, cholesterol esters and retinyl esters. HSL is widely expressed. |
