96-Well Black and White Polystyrene Plates, Corning®
By Corning®Corning® black and white microplates made of opaque polystyrene. Black plates have low background fluorescence and minimize light scattering; white plates enhance luminescent signals and have low background luminescence and fluorescence. Both colors are designed to reduce well-to-well crosstalk. Total volume is 330 or 360µL with a recommended working volume of 75 to 200µL. Half area plates have a total volume of 190µL with a recommended working volume of 25 to 125µL. Available in round or flat-bottom (with round wells). Lids supplied separately. Non-sterile. Plate dimensions (L x W x H) of 127.76 x 85.48 x 14.22mm.
Untreated (or medium binding) polystyrene surface is hydrophobic in nature and binds biomolecules through passive interactions. Suitable primarily for the immobilization of large molecules, such as antibodies, that have large hydrophobic regions that can interact with the surface. Untreated microplates have a binding capacity of approximately 100 to 200ng IgG/cm2. High Binding surface is capable of binding medium (>10kD) and large biomolecules that possess ionic groups and/or hydrophobic regions. Binding capacity is approximately 400 to 500ng IgG/cm2. Ideal for immunoassays. Nonbinding (NBS™) surface option is a Corning® proprietary treatment technology used on polystyrene microplates to create a nonionic hydrophilic surface (polyethylene oxide-like) that minimizes molecular interactions. Ideal for reducing protein and nucleic acid binding at low concentrations, and increasing assay signal to noise.
