Spectroline® Bi-O-Vision Dual-Light Transilluminator
By Spectronics CorporationFor viewing gel samples under either ultraviolet or white light
The Spectroline TVD-1000R is a dual-chamber dual-light transilluminator, offering both ultraviolet and white light irradiance with continuously variable intensity. The UV intensity is continuously variable from 6,000 to 3,000 µW/cm2; the white light, from 2,000 to 1,000 foot-candles. This provides complete irradiance control from 100% down to 50%, ensuring brilliant UV fluorescence for nanogram sensitivity, superior illumination of stains, and the sharpest visible bands in protein gels for photodocumentation. The two 8" x 8" side-by-side workstations have six 8 watt 312nm UV tubes on the UV side and four 8 watt fluorescent tubes in the white light chamber.
The Longlife UV filter ensures greater brightness over a longer period by inhibiting solarization up to 50 times as long as conventional filters. A diffusing screen attached to the filter ensures uniform irradiance without light striations. The cooling fan protects samples from damaging heat buildup and maintains constant irradiance longer. It also provides maximum preparation time with ethidium bromide stained nucleic acid gels. The UV-blocking safety cover provides left- or right-handed access to both workstations.
