Better than 70% recovery of target organisms such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia is achieved with this Supor membrane sampling capsule. Validated by the U.S. EPA in Methods 1622 and 1623: Cryptosporidium in Water by Filtration. The large void volume in the capsule allows for elution of organisms and sediment inside the housing, reducing processing variability and minimizing exposure to contaminants. Because the filter element does not need to be handled or cut apart, these capsules are safer to use. Envirochek HV with a hydrophilic polyester membrane is designed to handle large volumes of treated water.
Capsule housing is 6.1 x 21.6cm (Diam. x L) polycarbonate with a Supor (Envirochek) or hydrophilic polyester (Envirochek HV) membrane on a polypropylene support. Both models provide 1300cm2 effective filtration area. 12.7mm (1/2 inch) straight hose barb connection. Nonsterile.
