Whatman Autovial syringeless filters replace syringe-coupled filtration devices with a single, convenient disposable unit. Autovial allows you to pour the sample directly into the filter barrel, insert the plunger, and compress the unit. Built-in air purge maximizes sample recovery. The filter barrel has a support stand to protect the slip luer outlet. Autovial syringeless filters are ideal for filtration into an autosampler vial or direct instrument injection, by connecting a needle to the slip luer outlet.

Available in 0.2µm and 0.45µm pore sizes. Sterile or nonsterile.

Autovial 5: 5mL capacity. Polypropylene housing. 1.7cm2 filtration area. 30 µLvolume "hold up." Male slip luer outlet connection. Autoclavable at 121°C for 20 minutes. Non-sterile.

UniPrep Syringeless Filters

UniPrep® is a preassembled device for the filtration and storage of laboratory samples. The device is quick and easy-to-use and features a plunger, filter, and vial in one unit. UniPrep consists of a 5 mL outer test tube and a filter plunger with cap. Built-in prefilter means even difficult samples are quick and easy to prepare. The sample is placed in the outer tube and the plunger is pressed through the liquid. Positive pressure forces the filtrate up into the reservoir of the filter plunger, which can then be capped for sample storage. Filtered samples can be decanted into an autosampler vial or can be removed by drawing into a syringe for manual injection. Choice of two pore sizes, 0.2 and 0.45µm, and four membranes for wide sample compatibility:

  • GMF: layered glass microfiber depth filter for use with samples containing aqueous organic solvents
  • Nylon: naturally hydrophilic membrane for filtration of samples containing aqueous or organic solvents with a pH range of 3-10
  • PTFE: chemically inert PTFE® membrane for filtration of samples containing > 50% organic solvent
  • PVDF: low protein binding membrane for filtration of samples with aqueous or aqueous/organic solvent composition
