Sidearm fittings for used for a variety of functions in ProCulture® Spinner Flasks during cell culture. Fittings provide a convenient way of transferring media into or out of flasks aseptically. They can also be used to sparge the cell culture medium with gases to enhance cell production. Together with sensor probe fittings, they allow Spinner Flasks to operate as bioreactors when they are attached to appropriate cell culture controllers at costs considerably below those of traditional bioreactor vessels with expensive stainless steel headplates.
The fittings are comprised of a PET insert with a Viton® o-ring and a polypropylene sealing cap. Stainless steel tubes are held in place by Noryl® nuts with integrated ferrules. Fittings are completely autoclavable.
