Application:	3-Chloropropanesulfonyl chloride was used as starting reagent in the synthesis of the pyrrolidine-based chiral imidazolium ionic liquid. It was also used in sulfonation of cross-linked polyethylenimine for selective removal of Hg. It was used in generation and trapping of the derived sulfene with imines and glyoxylates in the presence of chinchona alkaloids to yield chiral sultams and sultones.
