| Application: | Azure II Eosinate is used for human-medical cell staining and serves the purpose of the investigation of sample material of human origin (by fixing, embedding where necessary, staining, counterstaining, mounting) in hematological and clinico-cytological specimen materials, for example smears of whole blood and bone marrow. |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | The staining of the nuclei is due of the molecular interaction of the Eosin Y dye and a complex of Azure B with DNA. Both dyes assemble to an Eosin Y- Azure B-DNA complex and the intensity of the resulting stain depends on the content of Azure B and the ratio of Azure B : Eosin Y. Furthermore, the resulting stain can vary depending on the influence of fixation, staining times, pH-value of the solutions or buffer substances. |
| Features and Benefits: | Chief ingredient of Giemsa Stain. |
| General description: | Azure II Eosinate is the eosinate of the dye Azure II which is a mixture of the dyes methylene blue and azure B in equal proportions. This compound is a key ingredient in Giemsa stain, which is widely utilized for staining blood elements and facilitating the visualization of cellular components under a microscope. |
