Application: Zincon sodium salt has been used to locate zinc in plant tissues by light microscopy.
General description: Zincon is a formazan dye, that serves as a metal indicator and is applicable in chelometric titration. It is used in spectrometric analysis. The metal-zincon complex formed shows a prominent absorption band in the visible region. Zincon is also used in solid support electrophoresis for staining zinc proteins.
