Application: | Bismuth(III) chloride may be used as a catalyst in the following processes: • Alcoholysis, acetolysis and hydrolysis of epoxides to form the corresponding β-alkoxy and β-acetoxy alcohols and diols. • Preparation of thiiranes from oxiranes using ammonium thiocyanate. • Three component coupling of carbonyl compound, amine and dialkyl phosphite to form α-amino phosphonates. • Allylation of secondary benzyl alcohols with allyltrimethylsilane. • [4 + 2] cycloaddition between dienes and α-carbonyl ethylenic dienophiles. |
