General description:	1-Fluorooctane undergoes C-F bond-cleavage reaction with phenyl magnesium chloride to give n-octylbenzene. It reacts rapidly with trimethylsilyl iodide to give corresponding octyl iodides and trimethylsilyl fluoride.
