General description: | sec-Butyl methyl ether (2-methoxy butane) is an acyclic methyl ether. It is reported to be formed in trace amounts during the thermal decomposition of meso- and dl-2,3-dimethylsuccinyl peroxides. sec-Butyl methyl ether is prepared by the reaction of sodium sec-butylate and methyl iodide. Its boiling point has been predicted using back-propagation neural network (BP NN). |
