Application: | Lithium chloride can be used as: • A molten salt electrolyte in Li-based liquid metal batteries. LiCl facilitates the transport of lithium ions between the electrodes during the battery′s charge and discharge cycles. LiCl, along with KCl, contributes to the ionic conductivity and stability of the molten salt electrolyte. • A precursor material for the development of fluorine-substituted lithium chloride solid electrolytes for high-voltage solid-state lithium-ion batteries. • A salt additive in the formulation of a gel electrolyte for quasi-solid dye-sensitized solar cells. LiCl enhances the ionic conductivity of the gel electrolyte, facilitating the movement of charges within the solar cell • An additive in the development of a composite electron transport layer for N-I-P type monolithic perovskite/silicon tandem solar cells. It is added to the tin oxide (SnO2) precursor solution to passivate defects within the SnO2 layer and enhance the electron injection driving force at the interface between the electron transfer layer (ETL) and perovskite. • Molten salts reactors as an coolant |
