Application: | Hexadecylamine (HDA) can be used: • To prepare a mixture of hexadecylamine-trioctylph • As a capping agent in the synthesis of copper nanocrystals with different shapes by reducing CuCl2 with glucose. • As an organophilic alkylamine in organoclay in the preparation of a polyimide nanocomposite. • To form a membrane with vanadium oxide (V2O5/HDA) as the sensing layer of the extended gate H+-ion sensitive field effect transistor (EGFET) device. • As both reducing and stabilizing agent in the preparation of HDA capped Au and Ag nanoparticles applicable in surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). • As a template in the synthesis of MCM-41 analog silica beads. • Along with lauric acid used in the preparation of cobalt (Co) nanorod superlattices with magnetic properties. |
