Application: | Sodium orthovanadate (Na3VO4) can be used as a metal precursor in the synthesis of: • Vanadium-MCM-48 (V-MCM-48) by anion-exchange method. V-MCM-48 is used as a catalyst in oxidation of styrene to benzaldehyde. • Nanorods of vanadium oxide particles by glycothermal method. • Yttrium vanadate (YVO4) doped with colloidal europium. |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | An inhibitor of protein tyrosine phosphatases, alkaline phosphatases and ATPases. |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | Inhibits ATPase, alkaline phosphatase and tyrosine phosphatase. Decavanadate, which is formed at acidic pH, inhibits inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3)-induced Ca2+ release from endocrine cells and blocks IP3 binding to its receptor in brain tissue. |
