| Application: | N749 Black Dye is designed for the widest range spectral sensitisation of wide band-gap oxide semiconductors; like titanium dioxide up to wavelengths beyond 800nm. Recommended application in 0.2-0.3mM solution with ethanol or acetonitrile/tert-butanol (1:1; vol:vol). |
| Application: | Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) can be surface modified by using N749 to enhance the photocatalytic characteristics of hydrogen evolution system. It may also be used as a high efficiency dye for niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5) photoanodes which can be used for the fabrication of titanium oxide (TiO2) coated dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). |
| General description: | N749 Black Dye (N749) has ruthenium at the center that forms a co-ordinate bond with the monoprotonated tricarboxyterpyridine and three thiocyanates. It can be used as a sensitizer that functionalizes the semi-conducting materials that exhibit an absorption peak in the near infrared region. |
