General description:	Anhydrous ethyl methyl carbonate (EMC) is a clear, colorless liquid with a sweet, ether-like odor. It is a highly polar solvent with a moderate boiling point (101 °C) and relatively low vapor pressure, making it suitable for use in a wide range of chemical reactions and processes. EMC is an excellent solvent for many organic compounds including cellulose, ester, and amides, and it can dissolve a variety of inorganic compounds as well, including many electrolytic salts.
