Application:	5-Hydroxymethyl-2-furaldehyde (HMF) can be used in the synthesis of: • Furan-2,5-dicarboxaldehyde (FDA) using a vanadyl phosphate-based catalyst via selective oxidation. • Prepolymer and antiviral precursor, 5,5′-oxy(bismethylene)-2-furaldehyde (OBMF) using solid acid catalysts via etherification reaction. • Diformylfurane (DFF) by aerobic oxidation using pyridine-vanadyl complexes.
