Application: Bovine Serum Albumin, Fraction V, fatty acid free is used:
• in lipid research to study lipid metabolism in biological systems
• to identify transport mechanisms in living organisms
• to study ligand binding
• to investigate ionic binding
• in the preparation of solutions during isolation of cardiomyocytes
• as a blocking solution to incubate embryos for immunofluorescence
• in dual polarisation interferometry (DPI) to study the interaction between membrane active peptides and artificial bilayers
Biochem/physiol Actions: The fatty acids that are insoluble in circulating plasma are transported primarily by serum albumin. The human serum albumin and bovine serum albumin share 76% sequence homology. Being the most abundant protein in the circulatory system, it participates in the maintenance of blood pH and carries several endogenous and exogenous compounds, including fatty acids, metal, amino acids, steroids and drugs.
Features and Benefits: • Free from fatty acids according to current quality control procedures (suitable for lipid research)
• High quality
• Low content of heavy metal ions
• Long-term stability
General description: Highest quality for fatty acid and lipid research.
BSA is a single polypeptide chain consisting of about 583 amino acid residues and no carbohydrates. At pH 5-7, it contains 17 intra-chain disulfide bridges and one sulfhydryl group.
Other Notes: For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.

New Tariffs & Effects on Pricing

Tariff note: As we navigate the current environment of tariff surcharges and mid-year manufacturer price increases, we want to keep you informed. While we have avoided making specific decisions thus far, we anticipate that we will be forced to implement a cost adjustment policy to offset the fees we have already been absorbing. We are committed to transparency and moderation in this process.
