Application: | Agarose MP, a multi purpose agarose, is developed for analytical and preparative electrophoresis of nucleic acids and separation of high molecular weight DNA via pulse field gel electrophoresis (PFGE).It is also used for preparative electrophoresis and quantitative recovery of biologically active DNA. Agarose MP has also been used along with other supplements to store embryos in different developmental stages. |
Features and Benefits: | • High Gel Strength: Agarose MP gels exhibit great strength, even at low concentrations. This ensures sturdy gels for robust performance in electrophoresis. • Versatile Applications: Agarose MP aids in the analysis of various samples, including high molecular weight molecules. • Rapid Migration without restriction: Even at low concentrations agarose MP gels facilitate the rapid migration of large DNA molecules without significant restriction, resulting in efficient separation. • Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) Compatibility: Agarose MP is ideal for PFGE as it enables short separation times for large DNA molecules while maintaining the high resolution required for effective analysis. |
General description: | Agarose is obtained from seaweed and contains repeated agarobiose units. During agarose gel formation, the polymers aggregate to form a network with varying pore sizes. This property is used in agarose gel electrophoresis to separate DNA. |
Other Notes: | Agarose MP can produce high strength gels (e.g., the gel strength of a 1% agarose MP gel is ?1800 g/cm2). Even gels that have low concentrations of agarose MP are strong enough to be used for electrophoresis. The agarose matrix of such low concentration gels allows high molecular weight molecules to migrate rapidly without significant restriction. |
Other Notes: | Agarose MP is particularly well suited for pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, because it allows short separation times for large DNA molecules, while maintaining the high resolution required for effective analysis. For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. |
Quality: | Absence of DNase: none detected according to the current Quality Control procedures. Absence of RNase: none detected according to the current Quality Control procedures. |
