Application: | Maximum Recovery Diluent is a protective and isotonic medium used for maximal recovery of microorganisms from a variety of sources. The low concentration of peptone does not cause multiplication of the organisms within 1-2 hours of dilution of the sample. |
Footnote: | We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs. The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance. |
General description: | Maximum Recovery Diluent is as an isotonic diluent. It combines the protective effect of peptic digest of animal tissue with the osmotic balance of physiological saline. The low concentration of peptic digest of animal tissue helps to maintain the organisms for 1-2 hours without multiplication. The isotonic property ensures the recovery of organisms from diverse specimens. In distilled water or aqueous suspensions, the lethal rate would be higher because of the sub-lethally injured organisms. |
