Application: This analytical standard can also be used as follows:

• Development of a gas chromatography method combined with a quadrupole time-of-flight mass analyzer (GC-QTOF) functioning with an atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) source for the detection of 11 methyl esters of very long chain-polyunsaturated fatty acids (VLU-PUFAs) in 12 eyes samples of four different fish species
• Gas chromatography-mass spectrometric (GC-MS) analysis of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acids, separated from fish oil samples by pH-zone-refining countercurrent chromatography following their methyl esterification
• Quantification of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acids following their ultrasonic cell crusher extraction and derivatization to methyl esters from six types of seafood samples by gas chromatography coupled to flame ionization detector (GC-FID)
• Optimization of a capillary zone electrophoresis procedure coupled with direct absorption UV detection (CZE-UV) to determine eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acids after their methylation in 10 different samples of commercial omega-3 supplements
• Simultaneous analysis of 45 fatty acids following their methyl derivatization in human blood cells by gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) with an ammonia-induced chemical ionization (CI)
General description: Methyl all-cis-5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoate belongs to the class of very long-chain fatty acid methyl esters.
