Application: For the isolation and cultivation of Brucella species, in particular the pathogens B. melitensis, B. abortus and B. suis, from clinical material and comestibles of animal origin.
Footnote: We offer two media types: the superior granulated GranuCult® and the cost-efficient powdered NutriSelect® culture media, depending on your needs.
The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.

Preparation Note: Dissolve 41 g in 1 litre distilled water and autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Let cool to 45-50°C and add the supplement according the data sheet.

Supplements :
Brucella differential agar:
1 ml/l 2% basic fuchsin solution (Cat. No. 03968). or 2% solution from thionine acetate (Cat. No. 88930)

Brucella selective agar:
500 mg/l Bacitracin (Cat. No. 11702)
1 mg/l Polymyxin B sulfate (Cat. No. P4932)
100 mg/l Cycloheximide (Cat. No. 01810)
(and if required) 1.25 mg/l ethyl violet (Cat. No. 228842)

For isolation of Campylobacter species:
50 ml/l heat inactivated horse serum (Cat. No. H1138)
250mg/l Sodium pyruvate (Cat. No. P2256)
250mg/l Sodium metabisulfite (Cat. No. 31448)
250mg/l Ferrous sulfate (Cat. No. 31236)
50-100 ml/l defibrinated sheep blood
