Application: | Chromatographic resin for ion separation. Useful for removal of ionic detergents (e.g., SDS) from protein samples. It is used for the removal of electrolytes from water solutions, and separation of cations from anions. Desalting occurs by SEC-type mechanism, so column use is recommended for best success. |

General description: | Amphoteric properties of Dowex Retardion 11A8 allows specific isolation of elements from complex mixtures which generally is possible with use of monofunctional ion exchangers. Determination of trace amounts of Zinc and Cadmium by radiochemical NAA was performed using Retardion 11A8. |
