| Application: | BG-11 is an universal medium for the cultivation and maintenance of blue green algae (cyanobacteria), such as Synechocystis 6803; Nostoc sp. PCC 9104 and Nostoc sp. PCC 9025. It is used for studies of the photosystems, as well as to identify the primary targets of the photoprocess. |

| Preparation Note: | Dissolve the medium concentrate 1:100 with sterile water. It is recommended to adjust pH, under aseptic conditions, with 1M NaOH to 7.1 or as desired. Add the choosen sterile trace element solution. |
