General description: | Peptone from meat, enzymatic digest is a richsource of peptides and free amino acids. Meat peptone provides nitrogen,vitamins, amino acids, and carbon in microbiological culture media. High sulfurcompound content in meat peptone enables the detection of bacteria (Clostridiaspp., Salmonella spp.) that produce hydrogen sulfide. Meat peptone issuitable for the cultivation of yeast and molds, enterobacteria, andstaphylococci. It also favors the growth of streptococci and the production ofcharacteristic hemolysis in blood agar formulations. |
