Application: | • 2-Pyrrolidinone is used in the synthesis of N-vinylpyrrolidone, from which polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is obtained. • It can be used as a ligand in the preparation of one-dimensional coordination polymers and mixed transition metal-lanthanide complexes. • 1,2-amino alcohols can be reacted with carbon dioxide in the presence of 2-pyrrolidinone electrogenerated base to synthesize various oxazolidin-2-ones (Evans-type auxiliaries). • It is a key starting material in the synthesis of (±)-tetraponerine T4. |
