Application: | Girard′s reagent T may be used as a derivatizing reagent for the determination of 5-Formyl-2′-deoxyuridine in cellular DNA samples using liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) technique. Reducing saccharides can be derivatized by Girard′s reagent T and this can be analyzed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization coupled to time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) technique. |
Features and Benefits: | • Girard′s reagent T is a chemical derivatization reagent for LC-MS. • It has carbonyl functional group possessing high proton (cation) affinity that stabilizes a positive charge. • It is commonly used in the derivatization of nucleosides. • Derivatization reactions in mass spectrometry are used to improve ionization efficiency. • Derivatization can enhance precise quantitative analysis for profiling of relatively small analyte molecules, particularly in metabolomics. |
