Application: | Glycerol can be used in a broad range of applications:• Sample preparation and gel formation for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis • It is used to aid in casting gradient gels and as a protein stabilizer and storage buffer component • As a solvent in organic synthesis, such as Huisgen cycloaddition of azides • In pharmaceutical and personal care industries as a humectant and for improved smoothness |
Application: | Glycerol is used both in sample preparation and gel formation for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Glycerol (5-10%) increases the density of a sample so that the sample will layer at the bottom of a gel’s sample well. Glycerol is also used to aid in casting gradient gels and as a protein stabilizer and storage buffer component. |
Features and Benefits: | • ASTM D6866 - Standard Test Methods for Determining the Biobased Content • Renewable Carbon Content – ≥99.9% • Made from Renewable Resource – Palm oil |
General description: | We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. Glycerol provides a high boiling point, low flammability, and polarity. Glycerol is non-toxic, biodegradable, and comes from a renewable feedstock, thus it aligns with "Safer Solvents and Auxiliaries", "Use of Renewable Feedstocks", and "Design for Degradation".
