Application: Ammonium sulfate has been used as an additive in salting-out procedure to prepare the g-globulin fraction. It is also used as a component in synthetic minimal dextrose (SD) liquid medium.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) is mainly used as a soil fertilizer. It is also used as a wood preservative. This inorganic salt plays a role in flame retardant chemicals.
