| Application: | Dimethyl sulfate may be used along with alumina for preparation of monomethylated derivatives of alcohols, phenols and carboxylic acids. It may also be used in combination with dimethylformamide (DMF) to form methoxy-methylene-N,N-dimethyliminium salt, that can be utilized for the preparation of β-lactams. |
