General description: | Hydroquinone is a phenolic compound, which is naturally found in coffee, tea and wine. It is used in photographic, chemical and cosmetic industries. Hydroquinone is used as a skin lightening agent. It is topically applied to treat melisma, freckles and senile lentigines. Hydroquinone is linked to exogenous ochronosis, dermatitis and skin irritation. It inhibits melanogenesis. |
