Application:

  • Aluminum standard solution: Aluminum standard solutions are essential in trace metal analysis, particularly in pharmaceutical quality control where accuracy and precision are paramount. These standards are used to calibrate instruments such as ICP-MS, ensuring reliable detection and quantification of trace metals in pharmaceutical products. The use of aluminum ICP standard solutions is crucial for maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals. They are also utilized in biochemical research as high-purity reference materials to study metal-related biochemical processes (Jafari et al., 2024 ; Barsola et al., 2024 ).
General description: This Standard Reference Material (SRM) is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the quantitative determination of aluminum. A unit of SRM 3101a consists of five 10 mL sealed borosilicate glass ampoules of an acidified aqueous solution prepared gravimetrically to contain a known mass fraction of aluminum. The solution contains nitric acid at a volume fraction of approximately 10 %, equivalent to an amount of substance concentration (molarity) of approximately 1.6 mol/L.
