Polyvinylpyrrolidone coated silver nanoparticles
SIAL/NISTRM8017 - NIST® RM 8017, nominal diameter 75 nm
Product Type: Chemical
| form | solid |
| grade | certified reference material |
| manufacturer/tradename | NIST® |
| Quality Level | 100 ![]() |
| Application: | The Reference Material (RM) is intended for use as a benchmark and investigative tool to evaluate potential environmental, health, and safety risks associated with manufactured nanomaterials throughout their product life cycle. |
| Features and Benefits: | • The reference values for the mean silver particle size are traceable to the SI unit of length, expressed in nanometers, and are determined using the following methods: 1) Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) 2) Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) 3) Ultra-Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (USAXS) 4) Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) • The reference mass values for silver (Ag) are provided, and values are metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass, expressed in milligrams. • Information values for copper, gold, silicon, and Iiron are provided and determined using ICP-MS method. • Expiration details, instructions for handling, storage and use are provided on the NIST certificate. |
| General description: | One unit of RM 8017 comprises five serum vials, each consisting of lyophilized polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-coated silver (Ag) nanoparticle cake. Every vial is vacuum sealed and contains approximately 2 mg of Ag and 20 mg of PVP (with a molar mass of approximately 40 kDa). For more information, please refer to the SDS and COA.
