General description: | Dapsone is an antibacterial drug, belongs to a class of compounds known as sulfones. It acts by inhibiting the synthesis of dihydrofolic acid through competition with para-aminobenzoate for the active site of dihydropteroate synthetase, thereby inhibiting the growth of microorganisms that are dependent on endogenous folic acid synthesis. It is used in primary treatment of dermatitis herpetiformis and in combination with other drugs to treat leprosy. Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control, provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards. |
Other Notes: | This Certified Reference Material (CRM) is produced and certified in accordance with ISO 17034 and ISO/IEC 17025. All information regarding the use of this CRM can be found on the certificate of analysis. |
