Biochem/physiol Actions: |
Anatabine is a blood-brain barrier penetrant minor alkaloid, a cholinergic agonist, isolated from Solanaceae plant family that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties. Apparently, anti-inflammatory properties of anatabine are partially mediated by inhibition of STAT3 and p65 NFkB phosphorylation. Anatabine decreases the transcription and protein synthesis of β-secretase (BACE-1), and appears to ameliorate experimental autoimmune thyroiditis and encephalomyelitis. |
General description: |
Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards |
