| Application: | SabouraudDextrose Broth is recommended for the selective cultivation of yeasts, molds,and aciduric bacteria. The medium is particularlyuseful for the cultivation of fungi associated with skin infections. It is alsosuitable for the microbiological examination of non-sterile products (accordingto USP, EP, and JP). |

| General description: | Sabouraud Dextrose Broth is useful for cultivating fungi associated with skin infections. Mycological peptone provides nitrogenous compounds, and dextrose is an energy source. The low pH favors fungal growth and inhibits contaminating bacteria. |

| Preparation Note: | Suspend 30 g of Sabouraud Dextrose Broth in 1000 ml of distilled water. Heat to boiling to dissolve the medium completely. Sterilize by autoclaving at 15 lbs. pressure. (121°C) for 15 minutes. |
