Application: | Gasoline in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing the gasoline in soil samples. Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. However, please note, this sample may include non-TNI analytes as well. Preparation Note: | Description • The PT sample size provided is 33 g of soil. The minimum recommended sample size is 5 g. • The soil has been chemically synthesized with 6 mL of methanol to minimize the degradation of the sample. • The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. • This sample has been prepared with an apparent headspace. Sample Preparation • Mix and sample at 4 °C to minimize the volatilization of the contents. Do not bring the sample to room temperature prior to sampling. • The sample is soil containing Gasoline Range Organics (GRO) to be extracted and analyzed using the methods for which you are seeking accreditation. • In the PT Portal, list the extraction technique and determinative method used for the analysis of the sample. • Report on a wet weight basis. |
