Preparation Note: | Description Randomly contains a minimum 80% of the analytes listed. • This PT sample is a soil containing extractable phenols for analysis by 8041 and/or 8270. • This sample consists of 10 g of soil. • Four samples have been provided for your convenience (multiple methods, multiple analysts, etc.) • The soil has been chemically stabilized to minimize degradation of the sample. • The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. • The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics as required by TNI. • The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace. Sample Preparation • Extract the complete contents of a single vial. • Transfer the entire contents of one vial to an extraction vessel. • Rinse vial and cap with extraction solvent. • Note: Sample extracts and calibration solutions should be in the same solvent. • Analyze the extract using the appropriate Semi-Volatile Organics method for which you are seeking accreditation. • Determine the concentration of the analytes listed and report your results on the organic analysis data sheet provided. The method used must be reported. If multiple methods are used for preparation and/or analysis, a separate report form, must be used for each preparation and analysis method. • Report all results on a wet weight basis. • Do not correct for moisture. • Assume a 10 g sample size for all calculations. |
