Application: | BTEX/MTBE in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing the BTEX/MTBE in soil samples. Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. They are designed to meet the requirements of national, regional and state-specific accreditation bodies (TNI, USEPA, UKAS) for quality assurance and continuous improvement. Have any questions? Preparation Note: | Description The PT sample size provided is 33 g of soil. The minimum recommended sample size is 5 g. The soil has been chemically synthesized with 6 mL of methanol to minimize degradation of the sample. The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. This sample has been prepared with an apparent headspace. Sample Preparation • Mix and sample at 4 °C to minimize volatilization of the contents. • Do not bring the sample to room temperature prior to sampling. • The sample is a soil containing BTEX to be extracted and analyzed using the methods for which you are seeking accreditation. • In the PT portal, list the extraction technique and determinative method used for the analysis of the sample. • Report on a wet weight basis. |
