Features and Benefits: | We have a vast portfolio of environmental PT schemes with "fit-for-purpose" samples to help you meet the needs of the laboratory. Our proficiency testing (PT) program is a benchmark to: • provide staff with an insight into their laboratory′s performance, to verify the accuracy and reliability of their testing process • provide a comparison of performance with that of other laboratories, nationally and internationally • test and educate staff, provide a better understanding of the impact of incorrect results and identify areas where there may be problems • provide an independent evaluation of laboratory performance • demonstrate to clients, colleagues and accreditation bodies that there is a commitment to quality |
General description: | TPH in Soil - PT is produced following the ISO/IEC 17043:2010, thereby allowing our test components to offer significant performance data to monitor and prove competency to customers, accreditation bodies, or both. Supelco® is a global proficiency testing (PT) provider that manufactures best-in-class environmental and pharmaceutical PT products. We are the world leader in the manufacturing of real-world soil and sediment PT products. Preparation Note: | Description • The PT sample is a soil containing total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH). • The sample size provided is 100 g of soil. • The soil has been sterilized to minimize the degradation of the sample. • The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh. • The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics as required by TNI. • The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace. Sample Preparation • The soil is to be extracted and analyzed using an appropriate extraction and analytical method for TPH, assuming a high concentration sample. • Mix well. No particle size reduction is necessary. • List the extraction technique and analytical method used for analysis of this sample. • Using the selected extraction technique and determinative methods, determine the concentration of TPH in the sample and report your results as mg/Kg on a dry weight basis on the analysis data sheet provided. Do not correct the analytical results for matrix spike recovery bias. • Determine moisture content and report on a dry weight basis. |
