Application: TCLP - VOA - PT in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing TCLP - Volatiles (VOA) in soil samples.
Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. They are designed to meet the requirements of national, regional and state-specific accreditation bodies (TNI, USEPA, UKAS) for quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Preparation Note: Description

• This standard consists of a 2-mL flame-sealed ampule containing the volatiles in soil concentrate and a 30-mL ampule containing approximately 30 g of Matrix soil.
• The solvent for the Volatiles in Soil concentrate is Methanol. This standard may not contain all of the compounds listed. The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics.
• For analytes not detected, report as zero "0" or a < and your detection limit. This PT sample is intended for methods USEPA SW846 Method 1311 ZHE.

Preparation Instructions

•  The sample is to be extracted using the solid waste method for sediment/soil using Zero Headspace Extraction (ZHE).
•  Weigh 10.0 g of the Volatiles in Soil Matrix and charge the ZHE.
•  Carefully snap the top off the Volatiles in the Soil ampule.
•  Inject 1 mL of the concentrate into the matrix by placing the syringe tip slightly below the surface of the matrix in the ZHE.
•  Complete the analysis per your normal procedures.
•  The results of the analysis are to be reported on a wet weight basis.
•  The method used must be reported.
•  Report on a wet weight basis; do not correct results for moisture content.

NOTE: Additional volume has been provided in case the method employed requires a larger soil volume. For example, if a 25 g sample is required, weigh 25 g of soil in the ZHE and spike 2.5 mL of the provided solution (maintain 1 mL: 10 g ratio).
Storage and Stability: Please refer to sample label for expiration date, specific storage temperature, and specific storage conditions.
