Application: | Silver nitrate has been used for Von Kossa staining for evaluating the mineralized matrix. It has also been used for staining culture for assessing mineralization during osteogenic differentiation. Additionally, it has also been utilized in the staining of nucleic acids and of glycoconjugates in gels. |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | Silver nitrate is an inorganic compound that induces the protein conformational condition of amyloid A amyloidosis in mice. It also possesses antimicrobial activity against periodontal pathogens. |
