| Application: | Magnesium sulfate (anhydrous) can be used as a catalyst: • In Biginelli reactions to synthesize dihydropyrimidinones by solvent-free conditions. • In the synthesis of 2-imidazolines by the reaction of aldehydes and ethylenediamine in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and sodium iodide. The mixture of MgSO4 and bayerite is used to prepare single-phase,MgAl2O4 spinel nanoparticles by calcining the powder mixture at 800 oC. MgSO4 (anhydrous) can also be used as a drying agent in organic synthesis for the removal of traces of water from organic extracts. |

| General description: | Magnesium sulfate is a magnesium salt with tocolytic ability. Its role to induce an analgesic effect during intraoperative and postoperative periods has been investigated.
