HIL stimulates glucose-dependent insulin secretion from pancreatic cells. HIL activates insulin receptor substrate-associated phosphoinositide 3 (PI3) kinase activity. HIL reduces plasma levels of triglycerides, free fatty acids and cholesterol. |
