Application: | Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (1 paper) |
Application: | Goat anti-human IgG (gamma-chain specific)-alkaline phosphatase antibody can be used for ELISA applications using serum samples from allergic and borderline hypertensive patients. |
Application: | Proteins harvested from E. coli cultures were run on SDS-page gel for western blot analysis using alkaline phosphatase conjugated goat anti-human IgG (chain specific) at a concentration of 1:10000 for the secondary. IgG was detected in human serum by Elisa using alkaline phosphatase conjugated goat anti-human IgG (gamma-chain specific) diluted 1:5000 in 0.25% BSA/PBS. Assay was developed using p-nitrophenyl phosphate substrate (1mg/ml Sigma). |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | Human IgGs regulate immunological responses to allergy and pathogenic infections. IgGs have also been implicated in complement fixation and autoimmune disorders. Goat anti-human IgG (gamma-chain specific)-alkaline phosphatase antibody is specific for human IgG when tested against human IgA, IgG, IgM, Bence Jones Kappa, and Lambda myeloma proteins. |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | IgG1 is most abundant and its deficiency results in hypogammaglobulinemia. IgG2 deficiency increases susceptibility to bacterial infections. IgG3 mediates effector functions. IgG4 is associated with asymptomatic infection. IgG antibody have enormous therapeutic potential and the Fc region aids in the development of therapeutic antibody. |

General description: | Immunoglobulins (Igs) belongs to the immunoglobulin super-family. Each immunoglobin has two heavy (H) and two light (L) chains held together by disulfide linkages. Each light chain comprises one variable N-terminal region and a constant C-terminal region. Heavy chain has one variable N-terminal region and three or four constant (CH1-CH4) C-terminal region. IgG is a glycoprotein antibody that contains two equivalent light chains and a pair of identical heavy chains. IgGs have four distinct isoforms, ranging from IgG1 to IgG4. |
