Application: | ω-Aminohexyl–Agarose has been used in the conjugation of fatty acids with chain length from two carbons to 20 for fatty acyl beads pull-down experiments. |
Application: | ω-aminohexyl–agarose has been used for coupling of serotype b-specific carbohydrate antigen (SbAg) of Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans Y4 for isolation of anti-SbAg antibodies using protein chromatography. |
Biochem/physiol Actions: | ω-aminoalkyl-agaroses are used in chromatography. In these, the protein is retained by lipophilic association between the hydrocarbon side chains on the agarose and hydrophobic pockets in the protein. |
General description: | Hydrophobic ligands can serve as potentselective adsorbents. Both ω-aminoalkyl and alkyl agaroses can interact with the hydrophobic regions found in various proteins. The ω-aminoalkyl agarose product offered here consists of activated agarose with 1,6-diaminohexane covalently attached to one of its amine groups. |
