ELISA assay utilizing a biotinylated antibody and Avidin−Peroxidase detection.
Western Blotting Whole extract of HeLa cell lysate was separated on SDS-PAGE and probed with Anti-β-Actin antibody, Mouse monoclonal (Cat. No. A1978). The antibody was developed using Anti-Mouse IgG (whole molecule)-Biotin antibody produced in Rabbit (Cat. No. B8520) and and by 1:400,000 Avidin-Peroxidase (Cat. No. A7419) and chemiluminescent Substrate. Lanes 1. 1:800,000 antibody 2. 1:400,000 antibody 3. Negative control: without 1st antibody

| General description: | Avidin is homotetrameric protein (68kDa) obtained from egg whites and binds strongly to biotin. Thus, avidin-biotin association has been utilized in immunoassays to detect the localization of antigens in tissues. The use of avidin-biotin immunoassay enhances the sensitivity of the technique and facilitates the detection of antigens in low quantities. |
