| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Anti-Chicken IgY (IgG) (whole molecule)-Alkaline Phosphatase antibody is specific for chicken IgY (IgG). |
| Biochem/physiol Actions: | Chicken IgY is the major antibody found in chicken serum. Chickens generate a comparatively enhanced antibody response to mammalian antigenic proteins. These immunoglobulins do not bind to Fc receptors present in mammals and bacteria, and also do not interact with rheumatoid factors. Thus anti-chicken antibodies are useful analytical tools for various research applications. |

| General description: | Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) is also known as egg yolk immunoglobulin and is found mainly in birds, amphibians and reptiles. IgY cannot activate mammalian complement system and cannot bind to mammalian rheumatoid factors, and protein A or G. IgY facilitates an essential role in veterinary science, functional food and bio-products. It also has a crucial role in controlling infectious diseases of bacterial and viral origin. |
