General description:	Alcian Blue 8GX is a cationic phthalocyanine dye. It has an ability to interact with sulphated glycosaminoglycan. It is used as a counterstain to visualize histological tissue sections. In addition, alcian blue 8GX also aids in the in-situ quantification of marine biofilms produced by marine bacteria.
